One of my favourite places for a business meal is the Ristorante di Agostino Campari. The Campari family are masters in the art of hospitality: gentle and friendly manners, excellent cooking and extreme care for the customer.
This is the ideal place to invite a person you wish to know better and have an opportunity to deepen your relationship.
Also, in the spring, I recommend that you sit in the beautiful garden outside and feel the tranquillity of the countryside under the old wisteria vines.
I wag given the chance to taste three dishes for you.
Wine Princess suggests
MONDEGHILI (meatball recipe from Milan)
… combined with a bottle of red “L’altra metà del cuore” by Prime Alture (Casteggio).
A full-bodied red, 100% Merlot with a fine underwood tone, persistent enough to let you fully enjoy those amazing polpette served as starter.
Who should drink it: those who love rich red wines (14%).
When to drink it: with any kind of meat.
A wonderful opportunity: when the well-known “Carrello CAMPARI”, a fine selection of roasted and boiled meat, is carried into the room. The perfect combination with this classic dishes of traditional Lombard cuisine!
RISOTTO ALLE RANE (Risotto with frog meat)
… together with one of my favourite producers: Vie di Romans. This cellar located in Mariano del Friuli makes extremely fine wines. Combined with this aromatic risotto, the Chardonnay enhances the fruity and flowery notes of this divine nectar.
Who should drink it: all those who want to appreciate the real taste of the Italian Chardonnay, the perfect expression of Northern Italy wines!
When to drink it: along with delicate first dishes such as risotto with frog or quail meat.
A wonderful opportunity: this is the perfect combination for a lunch in the mountains, in the Summer.
CHIARA’S DESSERT
… paired with KABIR, a sweet wine by Donna Fugata. We are in Sicily, where the Zibibbo grape with its natural sweetness gives birth to the famous Moscato di Pantelleria. A rich and fragrant bouquet, with citrus and tropical fruit scents, ideally served with a fresh and not too sweet dessert …
Who should drink it: all! Everyone has to try the Moscato di Pantelleria, especially women who do not drink wine… they’ll definitely love this mix of sweetness and slight acidity!
When to drink it: at the end of the meal, with a dessert or alone. The ideal wine to meditate… but just on positive thoughts!
A wonderful opportunity: a trip to Sicily… to buy this nectar of the gods and make sure you always have one bottle available at home!
God save the wine!
