“Mulini di Segalari” is a farm established in Felciaino, Castagneto Carducci, in 2002. The cellar is a renovation of a 1700 building which includes a tower dating back to 1100, the Torre di Segalari.
Thanks to the passion and dedication of Emilio Monechi, an oenologist, and Marina Tinacci Mannelli, an architect, today we can admire a small and tidy building and well-tended vineyards with a unique potential. Classic Bolgheri DOC red vines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Sangiovese; Vermentino and Manzoni white vines. The company is member of the Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti and uses organic farming methods, with a special focus on biodiversity.
Just a walk through the vineyards with Marina and you will understand their ethics and deep commitment! We tasted some remarkable products: Mulini di Segalari Bolgheri Rosso Superiore, Soloterra IGT Toscana, Confini del Bosco Bolgheri Rosso.
Confini del Bosco Bolgheri Rosso 2015, rich in underwood scents and with a pleasant structure.
Soloterra IGT 100% Petit Verdot, this is the very best of the entire production, the expression of the purity and genuineness of these wines. A special and unique savour, herby and intense, a bit rough now and then but something you should taste once in a lifetime!
Wine Princess suggests
Mulini di Segalari Bolgheri Superiore: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot. Spicy and intense in the nose. Structured and rich of savour in the mouth. To leave in the cellar for some years.
A special feature: Marina’s watercolour drawings appearing on the nice bottle label. In this enchanted place where nothing is left to chance, the passion and dedication to the land is admirable!
Who should drink it: Those who love full-bodied and spicy red wines. This one is complex and unique.
When to drink it: On a Saturday evening, with home-made pasta and a rich sauce, such as tagliolini with wood pigeon or tagliatelle with wild boar. Excellent served with cheese!
A wonderful opportunity: A trip to Tuscany and a walk through the DOC vineyards in Bolgheri… a must-see!
God save Mulini di Segalari!
